The South Burlington Family Practice Center of Fletcher Allen Health Care has opened on the first floor of 1775 Williston Road, South Burlington. John Wilking, president of Neville Companies Commercial Real Estate, represented Fletcher Allen in these transactions. Beth Irwin Fontana and Douglas K. Bishop have been named associates with the law firm of Bloomberg & OHara in Burlington. Fontana is a cum laude graduate of LeMoyne College and the University of Buffalo Law School. She is admitted to practice in New York where she worked in personal injury law, real estate, adoption and family law. Bishop is a graduate of UVM and Georgetown University Law Center. Before becoming a lawyer, Bishop was deputy press secretary for Sen. Patrick Leahy in Washington, D.C. Merrilee S. Phelps has been named director of sales and marketing at Ramada Inn & Conference Center in South Burlington. Phelps was with the Inn of the Six Mountains in Killington. Andrea L. Holmes has been named sales coordinator. Holmes was a customer service representative for Bell Atlantic and, prior to that, was a sales administrative assistant for Conference Hotels of Vermont. Jeffery A. Boyce has been appointed guest services manager. Boyce was front office supervisor for the Sheraton Burlington Hotel and Conference Center. David B. Hall has been appointed catering sales manager. Hall was with the Sheraton Tara Hotel in Parsippany, N.J. Suss Advanced Lithography Inc. has moved into new facilities at 21 Gregory Drive, South Burlington. The company, formed in 1994 as a spin-off from Karl Suss, is a leader in X-ray lithography for the semiconductor industry. The new facility is equipped with enough space to build more than 20 X-ray lithography steppers per year, with expansion potential to build up to 80 systems per year. Assistance from Sen. Patrick Leahy has contributed to the growth of Suss Advanced Lithography, which prompted the move to a larger facility. In 1997 the company was awarded a $5.3 million contract with the Defense Research Projects Agency, a contract made possible with funds that Sen. Leahy set aside in the Defense Apppropriations bill. Kurt Zimmer has joined Hayes Group, a Williston marketing communications firm, to handle public relations. Zimmer was director of public relations and marketing at Frog Hollow Vermont State Craft Centers. Whitney Renwick has joined the firm as an account executive. Renwick was marketing services manager at Adweek Magazines and circulation manager with BPI Communications. Penelope Peoples has joined Middlebury College as director of its Bicentennial Campaign, a fund-raising effort launched in October to raise $200 million to coincide with the colleges 200th anniversary in the year 2000. Peoples was director of development and public relations for Massachusetts General Hospitals Institute of Health Professions. Calumet Digital Solutions of Illinois has appointed Joseph A. Castay the companys technical sales representative for Vermont, New York and the rest of New England. Castay will call on the companys digital photography customers utilizing high-end digital photography and scanning. Castay was sales manager/prepress and computer graphics for Crimson Tech, Cambridge, Mass. Key Investments Inc., the investment subsidiary for KeyCorp of Cleveland, Ohio, has named Thierry P. Albertine investment executive assigned to the private banking and investment group. Albertine has worked in the Burlington markets personal financial planning and investment area for more than 15 years. Key Investments is a registered broker dealer and an NASD/SIPC member. Darryl Leggieri has been named senior sales manager at the Sheraton Burlington Hotel and Conference Center. Leggieri was director of sales at the Residence Inn by Marriott. He is treasurer of the Vermont chapter of Hospitality Sales and Marketing International. Jeffrey DAmato has been promoted to the new position of director of revenue and marketing analysis. DAmato, who has been with the hotel since 1991, was most recently convention services manager. Alan M. Hebert has been appointed sales manager, responsible for group sales for state and regional associations and government clients. Hebert was sales manager at the Ascutney Mountain Resort and, prior to that, handled conference sales for Sugarbush Resort. Priscilla Kim Reidinger has joined Fletcher Allen Health Care as general counsel. Reidinger has been an attorney with Downs Rachlin & Martin for 17 years. She is a member of the Vermont Bar Association and the national Association of Health Care Attorneys/American Academy of Health Care Attorneys in-house counsel section. Lamoureux, Dickinson & OLeary Consulting Engineers Inc. is the new name of Lamoureux, Stone & OLeary in Essex Junction. The firm congratulates principal and partner Kenneth M. Stone on his retirement. Sean P. OBrien, P.E., has joined the firm as senior environmental engineer. OBrien will also manage environmental site assessment services for the company. Merchants Trust Co., a subsidiary of Merchants Bank, has appointed James D. Miller senior trust officer. Miller, a certified financial planner, will be responsible for managing the banks personal trust division. Most recently, Miller was with Stratevest Group, but from 1984 to 1994 he worked at the Merchants and Merchants Trust. Brian P. Jones has joined upstart magazine as an account representative. Jones was a tele-funding associate for Connecticut Public Broadcasting. upstart is a bimonthly publication established in August. David Blow, Michelle Dee and Felix Pond have been appointed corporate banking administrators at Merchants Bank. Blow, who has been with the bank since 1995, will be based in the service center of Merchants and work with corporate banking officers Lindsay Merrill and Robert Miller, serving commercial customers. Dee joined the bank in 1994 as a loan processor and mortgage discharge clerk. She will work in the service center with Pamela Steece. Pond joined the bank in 1994 as a customer service representative; he will work with Brian Gorman. Videovision Productions of Barre has announced the addition of MaryBeth Pinard-Brace as marketing director. Videovision is adding one-stop integrated marketing services to its video production and public access components. Pinard-Brace was public relations and marketing specialist for Shelburne Museum. Barry Churchill has joined Marty Keenes Golf World in Williston as a PBA golf instructor. Churchill has been working in the golf industry since 1987 and was the PGA instructor at the Williston Golf Course. Keene is completing a nine-hole golf facility with a double-decker driving range and miniature golf course on Mountain Drive in Williston. Topnotch at Stowe Resort and Spa has announced the appointment of David Barrocas as food and beverage director. Barrocas was with the New England Culinary Institute for seven years. Glenn Steinman has been named wine program director. Steinman, proprietor of Romancing the Wine in Burlington, has 15 years experience in the wine industry. Rene Paquette has been named vice president for manufacturing at Otter Creek Awnings in Middlebury. Paquette, who has been with the company for 17 years, is responsible for the coordination of awning systems manufacturing. Steve Myhre, customer service manager, was honored for 10 years of quality service to the company and its customers. Otter Creek designs, manufactures and installs awning systems, facade treatment products and point-of-purchase display systems. Gaylea E. White of Vergennes has joined Marketing Partners Inc., a Burlington marketing and public relations firm, as a marketing planner. White was a media specialist at Directech Inc. in Lexington, Mass. Kathy ODell-Thompson has joined the firm to manage public information and public relations programs for non-profit, educational organizations. ODell-Thompson was director of public relations at Trinity College. Vermont National Bank has named Stephanie Evans Wernhoff vice president and commercial banking officer. Wernhoff will be responsible for generating new commercial loan business and managing existing commercial client relationships in Chittenden County. She was a vice president in the corporate banking division of KeyBank. The Vermont Health Plan has announced the appointment of Joyce Gallimore as vice president of operations. Gallimore was director of government programs at MVP Health Plan in Schenectady, N.Y., and director of New York states licensing and monitoring of managed care organizations. The Vermont Department of Buildings and General Services has leased 18,168 square feet of space on the sixth floor of the North Building of the National Life campus in Montpelier to house the Agency of Commerce & Community Development, formerly located in the Pavillon Building. John Wilking of Neville Companies Commercial Real Estate represented National Life of Vermont in the transaction. Howard Center for Human Services has announced that Gail Rosenberg has joined the development staff on a half-time basis. Rosenberg was director of development and public relations at Shelburne Museum. Corporate Outfitters of St. Albans has announced the promotion of Rene Meilleur to vice president, marketing and sales. Meilleur has more than five years sales experience with the company. Angie Deuso has been appointed marketing and sales assistant. Deuso was with Century Arms. Milnes Jr. has been named president and CEO of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont, succeeding Preston Jordan, who is retiring after a 30-year career in the Blue Cross/Blue Shield system. Milnes is a senior health insurance executive with extensive experience at Blue Cross and Blue Shield plans in Ohio and Indiana. Samuel W. McDowell, Ph.D., has announced that McDowell & Co. has relocated its headquarters to 315 Week Road, Suite 100, Shelburne. The company offers services in management consulting and process innovation. Tim Johnson has been appointed rehab technician in the Plattsburgh branch of Yankee Medical Inc. Johnson is a certified emergency medical technician with the Vermont Air National Guard. Chris Graff, moderator of Vermont Public Televisions series Vermont This Week, has been appointed producer of the program, which airs statewide Fridays at 7:30 p.m. Graff will continue as moderator and take over scheduling the panelists and oversee the production elements of the show. Graff is chief of the Associated Press bureau in Vermont. Burlington Broadcasters, owners of radio station WIZN and operators of WBTZ and WKDR, have added Tammy Seymour and Chris Machanic as account executives. Seymour is the New York account exec for WIZN and WBTZ. She was with WFFF-TV, the Burlington Fox affiliate, and prior to that was with a Fox affiliate in Waco, Texas. Machanic is the Burlington account exec for WIZN. He was with Long Island Pizza Inc. Symquest Group has announced that Chris Stump has joined the company as a color graphics specialist. Stump will market Canon and Hewlett Packard color copiers and printers in southern Vermont and southwestern New Hampshire. He is the former owner of Cheshire Color Labs. SymQuest Group is based in South Burlington and has sales and service locations in Rutland and Montpelier, and West Lebanon and Keene, N.H. Catherine Krupp has been hired as financial assistant at UVMS Division of Continuing Education. She will provide financial support work in the professional programs unit. Mikyung Kwon has joined the student services team as student services advisor, providing counseling, advising, educational and support services to non-traditional and tradional students. Scovill will also coordinate the interface among all the program units. David Worthley has been hired as marketing manager for professional programs. Burlington Broadcasters, owners of WIZN and operators of WBTZ and WKDR, have announced that Dave Maynard and Alisa Carrafiello have joined the sales staff of WIZN as account executives. Maynard was with WKDR, a local talk radio station and now a sister station of WIZN. Prior to joining WKDR, he spent many years in the food and beverage industry. Carrafiello was an account executive for Vermont Times and for WVMX-FM in Stowe. She was a media buyer for Carrafiello & Diehl Advertising and Associates in Irvington, N.Y. Kim Volk was named president and CEO of Delta Dental Plans Association, a dental benefits organization headquartered in Oak Brook, Ill., with offices in Vermont. Volk has been with Delta Dental for 15 years, and was the associations acting president and CEO since February 1997. Phelps Engineering Inc. has announced that Robert E. Dufresne, P.E., has joined the firm as vice president. Dufresne has worked with water supply distribution and treatment for municipalities in New England. Phelps engineering Inc. is a civil/sanitary engineering consulting firm in Middlebury. Philip Daniels has been promoted to executive vice president and senior loan officer at Howard Bank. Daniels joined the Howard in 1982 as a management trainee. He was branch manager in Barton then Waitsfield before becoming a vice president in 1986. In 1989 he was named a commercial loan officer and moved to the banks main office in Burlington. As senior vice president, he has managed the commercial lending group since 1993. Sally Billado has been promoted to general manager of The Woolen Mill Health Club in Winooski. Misti OBrien has been named assistant manager. Michael L. Churchill, P.E., has joined Dufresne-Henry Inc., consulting engineers, as a senior project manager. Churchill served as a senior aviation engineer with URS Greiner in Albany, N.Y. His recently completed design for the reconstruction of the primary runway at Rutland State Airport received a design excellence award for the Vermont Chapter of the American Consulting Engineers Council. Churchill markets and manages aviation projects in New York and western New England working out of Dufresne-Henrys South Burlington office. Michael Zemianek has been named sales manager for Burlington Vermont Convention and Visitors Bureau, a division of the Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce. Zemianek will be responsible for developing group and convention business for BVCVB members throughout the state. Zemianek was front desk manager at Comfort Inn.
