John McSoley and Peter McCoy of the accounting firm McSoley McCoy & Co. announced the addition of Jamie Harnish, Michelle Jabbora and Stacie Adams. Harnish, a CPA, is tax manager; he was with a Massachusetts firm. Jabbora is senior accountant; he was with Homebound Mortgage in Colchester. Adams, an administrative assistant, was manager of a Williston business.

The investment management firm M. Kraus & Co. has moved from South Burlington to 4076 Shelburne Road, Building A, Suite 7C, in Shelburne. The phone number is 985-2620; fax number is 985-8252. The new mailing address is P.O. Box 9, Shelburne, 05482.

Thomas S. Leavitt, senior vice president, retail banking for Merchants Bank, announced the following appointments. Lou S. Chase was named branch president of the Groton branch. She succeeds Terry Bessette, who assumed leadership of the Barre branch in May. Chase has been with the bank since 1993. Promoted to the position of lender customer representative were Tyler Weeks and Valerie Pecor. Weeks is at the College Street branch in Burlington; Pecor is at the Hinesburg branch.

Sonja R. Shaver, manager of institutional trust at the Chittenden Bank, was promoted to senior vice president. She has been with Chittenden since 1985.

Brandee M. Kerber has joined Promo Pavilion in Williston as promotions coordinator/sales representative. She has more than nine years' experience in direct marketing, sales and customer service.

St. Michael's College announced that Anna Lester of Sheldon has joined the staff of Edmundite Campus Ministry at the college. A St. Michael's graduate with a degree in biology, Lester was a graduate student and wildlife biologist at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. Claudine R. Prairie has joined the education department faculty as an instructor on a tenure track. The native Vermonter taught at the Stowe Middle School from 1994 to 2001, and was a research assistant at Indiana University.

Arthur Chickering has joined Goddard College as special assistant to the president. Chickering was the founding academic vice president for Empire State College in New York and has been a teacher, professor, program director and vice president at various educational institutions. He has written several books.

Lang Associates announced the addition of sales professional Donna Mathieu to Carol Audette's team. Mathieu was a salesperson for a graphic arts company. Candy Rice was added to the team as support staff for Cathie Goodheart. Rice also works for the Winooski School District. Lang, Lion & Davis, the firm's exceptional properties division, announced the appointment of Mary W. von Ziegesar as director. She has practiced real estate for 30 years, is licensed in New York and Vermont, and is a Certified Buyer Representative.

The Howard Center for Human Services announced the hiring of Catherine Simonson as director of the Baird Division for Children and Families. She replaces Steve Dale, who left in July to become deputy commissioner of the Department for Children and Families at the Vermont Agency of Human Services.

Vermont Association of Business, Industry and Rehabilitation has relocated from the Champlain Mill in Winooski to the Talcott Professional Building at 75 Talcott Road in Williston. Tony Blake of V/T Commercial assisted the landlord, ALBEM, and the tenant.

Donald DeHayes, dean of the University of Vermont Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources, announced that Lisa Chase was named director of the Vermont Tourism Data Center. Chase was a UVM Extension assistant professor in Brattleboro. Rachel Johnson, dean of the UVM College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, announced that Richard Fanus was promoted to assistant dean for business operations.

Jack Bliss, president and CEO of Corporate Outfitters, announced the hiring of Laura A. Bowe as marketing and sales representative. Bowe works out of the Burlington and St. Albans offices. Her territory includes greater Chittenden County in Vermont and Clinton County in New York. She was marketing director for the Church Street Marketplace.

Pet Naturals of Vermont hired Pam Upton as national sales manager. She was regional sales manager for Ethical Products.

Citizens Financial Group announced that James R. Keyes will be president of the Citizens Bank's Charter One franchise in Vermont. Keyes joined Citizens Bank New Hampshire in 2002 as executive vice president of commercial lending and returns to Vermont, where he was president and chief executive officer at First Vermont Bank in Brattleboro.

Attorney Steven J. Watson has joined the St. Johnsbury office of the law firm Downs Rachlin Martin PLLC, where he will practice in the area of insurance defense and general litigation. Watson was director of the Community Justice Center in St. Johnsbury.

Union Bank of Morrisville announced three new hires. John Booth was named finance officer. He was at Merchants Bank and Banknorth Group. Jonah Wein is marketing coordinator. He has worked at Granite Hills Credit Union, and Chittenden and Vermont National banks. Paul Grogan is facilities manager. He has 20 years' experience in facilities management.

Vermont Housing Finance Agency Executive Director Sarah Carpenter announced the hiring of Gary P. Marini, CPA, as chief financial officer. Marini joins the team of three executive managers at the agency. Marini was with Community Preservation Corp. in New York City. He replaces Roger Schoenbeck.

Adelphia Communications announced the appointment of Jonathan Gibbons as area director of finance in Vermont, and Julia Andrews as community affairs coordinator. Gibbons was at Adelphia corporate headquarters in Denver. Andrews worked for Charter Communications in Vermont and upstate New York.

Patrice Thabault, owner of Home Instead Senior Care, announced the addition of Carol Wennerstrand and Laura Bousquet to the staff. Wennerstrand is staff coordinator. She was with Relax-R Corp. in Milton. Bousquet is director of caregiver recruitment and retention. She was with St. Michael's College.

Yankee Medical announced the following new hires. Jeff Wood, Certified ABC Orthotist, joined the Rutland office. Barbara Jackson joined the St. Albans office as branch manager. She was with EDS/Vermont Medicaid.

Sharon Gutwin, owner of the RehabGYM in Williston, announced the hiring of Lisa Tidman, PTA. Tidman is trained in therapeutic yoga.

Realtor Warren Miller joined the Thomas Hirchak Co. Miller was the owner of the Elmore Store for over 20 years and is a member of the Legislature.

PayData Payroll Services Inc. in Colchester announced the following staff additions. Rebecca Allen was hired as a conversion and training specialist. Melissa Parizo and Laurie Bouyea were named client service representatives. ·

Susan Parmer, R.N., has accepted the position of regional director of donor services for the American Red Cross Blood Services, New England region. Parmer was on the nursing staff of Maine Medical Center and the University of California at Irvine Medical Center.

Redstone commercial real estate firm announced that Ivan Favereau was hired as maintenance technician for the property management division. With 19 years of mechanical and carpentry experience, Favereau was a property manager in St. Albans.

KeyBank named Donald L. Baker Vermont district commercial banking team leader. His territory includes all of Vermont; Clinton, Essex and Franklin counties in New York; and Cheshire, Coos, Grafton, Merrimack and Sullivan counties in New Hampshire. Baker was a senior banker with the team.
