Vivien Schueler joined The Ponds at Bolton Valley Resort as a sales representative for weddings, corporate events and celebrations. Schueler has eight years’ sales and management experience in the retail industry. The Ponds is a new facility opened in September 2006, which has a banquet capacity for up to 300 people and a maximum capacity of 400 for large group functions.

Zoltan Horvath joined The McKernon Group Inc., a build/design firm in Brandon and in Glen Falls, N.Y., as director of project management, design and estimating. Horvath has a background in commercial and residential building, most recently with Russell Construction Services in Rutland.

Northfield Savings Bank promoted Deb Kerin to branch manager of the Northfield branch. Kerin has been with the bank since 1978, most recently as assistant branch manager in Barre.

David Warren joined Vermont Public Television’s director of major gifts. His 20 years’ experience in nonprofit fund raising includes experience at public broadcasting stations in Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts, and as director of development for the American Red Cross in Bangor, Maine.

Pioneer Environmental Associates of Vergennes announced that Ameddia Perry joined the firm as senior hydrogeologist. Perry has more than a decade of consulting experience in Vermont working in water supply development, wastewater management, environmental investigations and surface water hydrology. Daniel J. Prasch joined the firm as wetland scientist. Prasch has extensive professional experience conducting wetland/stream delineations, GPS surveying and reporting and preparing permit applications.

Mary Allen Stifler joined the sales team at Lang Associates in South Burlington. Stifler was director of development and vice president for administration at the Stern Center for Language and Learning. Andrew Hines joined the marketing team in South Burlington. He has experience in graphic design and writing. Judy Pelon joined the St. Albans office as an assistant to Cheryl Boissoneault and Mark Ledoux. Pelon was a bookkeeper with Direct Learning International and Twin State Building Supply. 

Michael Mayo joined the buildings engineering division at the North Springfield office of engineering consulting firm Stantec. A mechanical engineer, Mayo has spent 20 years in mechanical system design, working on design, layout and construction of HVAC and plumbing systems. 

Paul Kaza Associates hired Chris Farrar as assistant media planner responsible for participating in the negotiation and administration of media buys. Farrar was with Media Planning Group in New York City.

TSL Snowshoes of Williston added Ted McGuinness as director of sales and operations. McGuinness was vice president at operations with Trak Sports USA and has more than 15 years of outdoor industry sales, marketing and operations experience. TSL Snowshoes designs and manufactures aluminum and composite snowshoes.

Tom Conners joined VHFA as chief financial officer. Connors was vice president of finance at Trak Sports USA since 2005 and, prior to that, spent 11 years as director of revenue at IDX. VHFA senior analyst Scott Baker was promoted to investment manager. 

Armistead Caregiver Services of Shelburne has opened an office in Lebanon, N.H. The firm offers in-home, non-medical personal care and other assisted-living services for elderly and adults with disabilities.

Pamela Picker joined Truex Cullins & Partners as a member of the interior design team where she will focus on procurement and project management. Picker was a sales and project manager for Poltrona Frau USA Corp. of New York. Rebecca Leo was also named to the interior design team. Leo was an interior design intern with the firm in the summer of 2005.

Bread Loaf Corp of Middlebury promoted John Johnston to vice president of MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing ) services. Johnston joined Bread Loaf in 1999 and served as manager and then director of MEP Services and was named a vice president in July 2006.

Amy Mailloux was named team leader at Citizens Bank’s business banking division in Vermont, responsible for overseeing the development of new and existing relationships with business customers, consulting with business banking customers and working with business banking officers and branch staff. Mailloux has more than 20 years’ experience in the financial industry.

Coldwell Banker Hickok & Boardman Realty named Jessica Hubbard sales associate. Hubbard was with Coldwell Banker offices in Cambridge, Mass.

Christine Powell joined the American Red Cross Blood Services’ New England Region office in Burlington as a marketing specialist. Powell was public relations director at April Cornell and is a marketing instructor at Champlain College.

Pre-Tech Precision Machining of Williston hired Heather E. Streeter as human resource administrator. Streeter was branch manager at Manpower in South Burlington and was an employer resource consultant at the state Department of Labor. Pre-Tech Precision Machining, an employee-owned company, makes metal and plastic components for the biomedical, computer and aerospace industries.

Chittenden Bank hired John M. Tyson as an asset based lender in the commercial finance department. Tyson will work in the Maine and New Hampshire markets. Most recently he was with a local consulting firm and, prior to that, was vice president, group manager of corporate banking at Maine Bank & Trust.

Propeller Media Works announced the appointment of Dan Kaufman as senior account manager. Kaufman was with PriceWaterhouse Coopers for more than 10 years as a client relations team manager and oversaw 130 web sites in 36 countries.

Suzanne Grenier, Chittenden County business development officer with Northfield Savings Bank, assumed the additional post of branch manager for the bank’s new Williston Road branch in South Burlington. Grenier has been with the bank since 2003, and is a board member of the Vermont World Trade Office.

Pamela Polhemus was named site manager for Planned Parenthood of Northern New England’s locations in Waterbury and Hyde Park. Previous site managers, Madelyn Hamilton (Waterbury) and Lisa Dimondstein (Hyde Park) will continue their practice hours and increase their community presence. Polhemus has 15 years’ experience with Planned Parenthood.

Sign*A*Rama of South Burlington hired Donna Bombard as marketing coordinator, responsible for marketing, public relations, client prospecting, tradeshows and website administration. Bombard was with the Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce, where she coordinated the School-to-Work, the Learn-to-Earn, and the Linking-Learning-to-Life programs.

Exterus Business Furniture of Shelburne announced that Tina Barnes was hired as project manager. Barnes has been in the office furniture business for more than 10 years.

Housing Vermont, a statewide affordable housing developer and tax credit syndicator, announced the addition of Susan Wright to its asset management staff. Wright is responsible for oversight of a significant number of the 3,850 apartments in Housing Vermont’s portfolio and will work on special projects. She has managed residential property since 1984 in Alabama, Georgia and North Carolina.

Matt Villemaire was promoted to assistant vice president in the Winooski branch of TD Banknorth. Villemaire, who joined the bank in 1994, will continue to oversee the branch and manage business development and sales, small-business lending, residential mortgages, consumer loans and deposit accounts. Christopher Halnon joined the commercial lending department in Rutland, for Rutland and surrounding counties. Halnon has 11 years’ lending and banking experience.

Janice Gallant, M.D., associate professor of radiology and pediatrics at the University of Vermont College of Medicine, was appointed to a two-year term as associate dean for admissions at the college. Bruce Beynnon, Ph.D., was named the McClure professor of musculoskeletal research in the UVM College of Medicine’s department of orthopedics and rehabilitation. 

Mackenzie Architects of Burlington has named architects Sandra Silla and Joel Ribout as associates. Silla is an experienced senior living and health care architect; Ribout is a project manager. Other recent additions to the firm are: architect Mark Dowling; Trista Deslauriers, hired in May as an intern architect after graduating from Norwich University with a master of architecture; intern architect Francesca Lamura from Milan, Italy; and Janet Stambolian, director of business development.

Citizens Bank announced that Peter D. McCarthy was promoted to senior vice president. McCarthy is responsible for business development and managing a team of commercial banking professionals. Linda J. Magoon was promoted to senior vice president of retail banking. Magoon manages the bank’s 24-branch system in Vermont and is responsible for business development and managing the statewide team of retail banking professionals. Both new senior vice presidents have 20-year banking careers and joined Citizens Bank in 2001. •
