Doug Isham joined the team at Century 21 Jack Associates in South Burlington. He has 15 years’ experience as a small-business owner. Jasmina Redzic also joined the South Burlington sales team. She is fluent in English and Bosnian and has experience buying and selling real estate.

Mark Schulman, president of Goddard College, announced the appointment of Kabba Colley to the position of vice president and dean of the college. Colley was an associate professor of science education with George Mason University in Virginia. Daryn Campbell was promoted to vice president for finance and administration. Campbell has been chief financial officer since 2001 and, for the last two years, was dean of the college for finance and institutional advancement.

Union Bank announced the promotion of Therése Butler to credit analyst II, serving the bank’s commercial lending team. Before joining Union Bank, Butler was at Capital One.

DuBois & King Inc. announced that Troy A. McClure, P.E., joined the firm as a mechanical engineer/project manager for the firm’s building services division in Williston. McClure has more than 10 years’ experience in the industry.

New England Air Systems announced that Joe Tursky was hired as project designer. Tursky has more than 10 years’ design/build experience.

Windows & Doors by Brownell in Williston announced the addition of several employees. Adam Fitzgerald and Dan Paradis joined the company as sales representatives; Bill Simmons and Sam King joined the installation team; and Jeff Pierce is on the delivery/warehouse team.

Minfang Gong joined Hampton Direct importing and distribution firm as a product sourcing assistant. Gong has a bachelor of science in world trade from the TV University of Zhejiang, China, and a bachelor of science in food engineering from Zhejiang Ocean University.

Chittenden Corp. announced several staff promotions. Marcy Smith, financial adviser with Chittenden Securities LLC, was promoted to assistant vice president at Chittenden Corp. Susan Paris, supervisor for the trust department, was promoted to assistant vice president. Tom McFadden, Waterbury market manager, was promoted to assistant vice president at Chittenden Bank. Sandy Clavelle, White River Junction market manager, was promoted to assistant vice president at Chittenden Bank. Promoted to banking officer at Chittenden Bank were Kellie Stoll, mortgage sales coordinator, and Amy Chamberlin, business services officer.

Marino Bartolomei joined Express Mortgage Corp. as a partner. The company has offices in Williston and Stowe. Bartolomei will manage the Montpelier office opening soon. He has more than 10 years’ experience as a financial consultant.

Sovernet announced the expansion of its service into Keene and Lebanon, N.H., with the deployment of next-generation technology voice and data services, enabling statewide service. The company has headquarters in Bellows Falls and facilities in Burlington and Winooski.

Larry Mandell, president of Woodbury College, announced the addition of two individuals to its administration. Breck Knauft was named director of development. He was dean of students at the Gailer School in Middlebury. Dan Miko is the college’s controller. He was controller for Annie’s Naturals.

Sarah Carpenter, executive director of Vermont Housing Finance Agency, announced the hiring of Joshua Slade as multifamily operations specialist. Slade worked at Champlain Housing Trust for three years, and had served a year as an intern with VHFA until his graduation from Champlain College in 2004.

The Sheraton Burlington Hotel & Conference Center announced that Rebecca Matta was promoted from a catering support position to sales manager in the national association and social group market.

Rick Milliken, general manager of the DoubleTree Burlington Hotel, named Kate Hennessey corporate sales manager. Hennessey was with VBT Bicycling Vacations in the air travel department and worked for Child Travel Services. Sarah Hammitt was promoted to front office manager. She has been with the hotel since 2000.

Edward J. Bonach, executive vice president and chief financial officer for five years at National Life Group, has taken a similar position at Conseco Inc.

James Miller, president and CEO of Merchants Trust Co., announced the hiring of Lynette Chase as a relationship manager. Chase has 10 years’ experience in financial services.

Michael McLaughlin was promoted to vice president of business development at Bread Loaf Corp. architects, planners and builders in Middlebury. McLaughlin was director of business development.

Missy Clark and John Brennan, head trainers and owners of North Run Stables in Warren, announced the hiring of Julie Welles as their assistant. Welles was a working student at the facility.

Vermont Mutual Insurance Co. announced the election of officers: Thomas J. Tierney, chairman, president and chief executive officer; William A. Catto, executive vice president; Brian C. Eagan, vice president-chief financial officer and treasurer; Peter P. Fresco, vice president-underwriting and marketing; David N. DeLuca, vice president-claims; Joanne M. Currier, vice president-information systems; Richard N. Bland, vice president-general counsel and secretary; Peter M. Gutgsell, assistant vice president-marketing; and Mary J. Gray, assistant vice president-underwriting.

Pomerleau Real Estate announced that Justin T. Martin and Kristin Cain have joined the company. Martin, a commercial sales specialist and licensed real estate salesperson, joined the commercial team, and Cain, a licensed real estate salesperson, joined the commercial team as a broker and marketing assistant.

Mike Frisbie was hired by RehabGYM physical therapy and athletic training business in Williston. He has more than 15 years’ managerial experience.

Distributed Energy Systems announced that it is now officially using the Distributed Energy Systems name as its brand throughout the company. The announcement officially marked the combining of its two subsidiaries, Northern Power Systems and Proton Energy Systems. Visitors to the former Northern Power and Proton Energy Web sites will be redirected to www.distributed-energy.com, the company’s redesigned Web site.

CCTV Center for Media and Democracy announced the addition of three employees. Geoff Wyman and Nissa Kauppila were named trainers for Media Works for YOUth. Chris Stanley was named director of technical services.

Sovernet Communications announced several promotions and additions to its team. Jay Bellows was promoted to director of business sales. Eric Smith was hired on the business field sales team as account executive focused on central Vermont and the Upper Valley region of New Hampshire. Francesco Guzzardo was promoted to business field sales. Angela Murgoci joined the customer care group.

Lang McLaughry Spera real estate announced the addition of Daniel P. Bokan to its team. Bokan was general manager at Shearer Automotive for 13 years.

Champlain College hired longtime Burlington Police detective Rich Long as director of security. Long had worked with the college’s security department providing technical assistance in administering safety, security and neighborhood relations. 

The Community Health Center of Burlington announced three additions to its leadership team. Erin M. Perkins, B.S., MBA, is the laboratory coordinator. She has 10 years’ experience managing laboratory systems. Jason Kirby, the facilities coordinator, has 20 years in construction management and property maintenance. Thomas Cimock, M.A., director of homeless and special services, has 25 years’ experience serving at-risk individuals.

Sarah Carpenter, the executive director of the Vermont Housing Finance Agency, announced that Lori J. Gilding joined the organization as executive assistant. Gilding was legal assistant and marketing coordinator at the law firm Dinse, Knapp & McAndrew PC.

Dee Physical Therapy of South Burlington and Shelburne announced several staff appointments. Jason Fitzgerald is an exercise physiologist and Certified Personal Trainer; Stephanie Douglas is a physical therapist; Jennifer King is a physical therapy assistant; and Erin Herzog is office and marketing coordinator. 

The Brattleboro Development Credit Corp. announced the hiring of Bruce Gardner as associate director. Gardner has a long history of service with major corporations, most recently with Omega Optical.

Daniel Rodliff has joined Poulos Insurance Inc. as an agent at its new location in the Diemer Building on 12 Bacon St. in South Burlington. He was with Liberty Mutual.
