NRG Systems Inc. announced the addition of Emir Heco as mechanical engineer. Heco joined the company in the summer of 2007 as an intern and was hired full time after graduating with a bachelor of mechanical engineering from the University of Vermont. Hired as materials processors were Nicholas Hendry and Morgan Waters. Hendry was a driver and dock foreman at New England Deliveries. Waters was a life skills interventionist at the Howard Center, helping underserved youths integrate into the greater Burlington community. Robert Macklin was hired as an embedded software engineer. He was a design engineer at Microprocessor Designs in Shelburne.

Kilawatt Technologies announced that Ashley Wright joined the software company as a sales representative. Wright will support the company’s wholesale conservation partners who use Kilawatt’s products to lower energy consumption. She is a 2007 graduate of the University of Vermont’s Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources.

Tod Austin joined TD Insurance Inc., a subsidiary of TD Bank, N.A., as regional president. He has 25 years’ experience in the insurance industry. For five years prior to joining TD Insurance, he was president of Hackett, Valine & MacDonald. He has earned the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter designation.

Elaine Abueg was named to the newly created position of business development engineer at Nathaniel Group in Vergennes. Abueg was a research assistant at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where she completed her doctorate in biomedical engineering.

Kevin Harms was named executive producer at Channel 17/Town Meeting TV. He worked at television stations in South Dakota and West Virginia before being hired by WVNY in Burlington in 1999. He joined Channel 17/Town Meeting TV in March, working in post-production and videotaping.

Child Care Resource announced the addition of six to its staff. Aricha Drury joined the early care and consultation team. She was a preschool director in California and a teacher at Hand in Hand Creative Learning Center in Essex Junction. Terri Lavalette and Danielle Smail are child care subsidy specialists. Lavalette was in customer service at Comcast. Smail was a retail associate. Jennifer Miller is the organization’s recruitment specialist. She was at the Parent-Child Center in St. Albans and the Stern Center for Language and Learning in Williston. Beth Wilkins was hired for the newly created position of early childhood consulting teacher. She has more than 20 years’ experience as an early childhood special educator in the Chittenden East Supervisory Union. Rebecca Francisco is the Food to Grow On educator and is a nutrition counselor in the child care food program. She was with the Vermont Youth Conservation Corps as an agricultural and natural resources instructor.

Gallagher, Flynn & Co. LLP announced that Clifford A. Rankin has accepted the position of manager in the firm’s tax practice. He will split his time between the Burlington and the Hanover, N.H., offices. He was a manager with Harper & Whitfield PC, CPAs, in the Farmington, Conn., office.

Robert L. Lee joined Chittenden Bank’s wealth management team as the bank’s chief investment officer. He will lead the bank’s team of seven investment professionals throughout the state. He was with KDP Investment Advisors in Montpelier. Previously, he was with Sentinel Asset Management in Montpelier for 13 years. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a member of the Vermont Security Analysts Society.

Six professionals joined the Burlington headquarters of the marketing firm Kelliher Samets Volk. Meghan Haley is director of digital strategy, tasked with planning integrated marketing solutions for clients. She was with several digital agencies in the Boston area. Ben MacIntyre is interactive producer, responsible for coordinating resources for interactive projects. He has a freelance background in production and project management. Dan Munzing is interactive designer, creating Web sites and interactive projects such as banner ads. He was with New Breed Marketing. Zane Gunderson, junior designer, is a recent graduate of Champlain College with a degree in multimedia and graphic design. He was a semifinalist for the 2008 Adobe Design Achievement Awards, the first time a Champlain College student’s design work has been recognized on a national level. Michelle Bookless is a media coordinator. She was an intern for KSV and a fellow during her last semester at St. Michael’s College, where she earned her degree in journalism and mass communication. Chris Michael, formerly advertising coordinator for The Burlington Free Press, is also a media coordinator.

New England Federal Credit Union announced that Lisa Letourneau was hired as a human resources generalist in the human resources/organization development department. For the last 10 years, Letourneau was a market manager, lender, and call center manager.

Shawn R. Patenaude was named senior dam engineer and manager of the dam engineering group at DuBois & King Inc. consulting engineers. Patenaude has focused on dam engineering during most of his professional career, providing inspection, deficiency assessment, permitting, repair and rehabilitation design, emergency action planning, and construction phase services for dams throughout New England.

Tim Williams, president of Mesa Contract Inc. of Shelburne, announced that Chris Echo has attained ownership status as vested partner in the company. Echo will continue to focus on client relations for Exterus Business Furniture, a Mesa Contract subsidiary. He has more than 14 years’ direct commercial experience in the office and furnishings industry.

Attorney William L. Martin III joined the business law practice group at Downs Rachlin Martin PLLC. Thomas H. Moody, chairman of the group, announced that Martin, who began at the firm in September, will work in the Burlington office. He taught English and journalism at Burr and Burton Academy in Manchester from 2002 to 2005. A 2008 graduate of Vermont Law School, Martin was editor-in-chief of the Vermont Law Review, completed a full-time semester-in-practice in the Vermont Attorney General’s Office, and was a summer associate at Thompson Hine LLP in Cincinnati.

Ledyard National Bank of Hanover, N.H., with a Vermont office in Norwich, announced that Daniel P. Emanuele joined its Hanover office. Emanuele was with Chittenden Bank for several years, most recently as vice president and private banker. He lives in Hartland.

Russell, Blanchard & DuBois of Ameriprise Financial Services Inc. announced its move to a new office at 905 Roosevelt Highway in Colchester. KeyBank announced that Mark Erickson was named producing sales manager at KeyBank Mortgage. He is responsible for originating residential mortgages and hiring, training, and supervising the Vermont team. He was a senior loan officer for National City Mortgage and has 16 years’ experience in the mortgage banking industry. •
