Keri Pike joined Hampton Direct importing and distribution firm in Williston as a buyer. Pike was purchasing coordinator at Bruegger’s Enterprises.
Northern Power Systems Inc. announced that James C. Shay was appointed chief financial officer. Shay has 25 years’ experience in senior management, most recently as senior vice president and CFO at BHA Group Holdings.
Brian Dunkiel, co-founding partner of the law firm Shems Dunkiel Kassel & Saunders, announced that Eileen I. Elliott and Geoffrey H. Hand were made partners in the firm. Elliott was involved in health care and legal public policy issues during her tenure with state government, most recently as deputy secretary of the Agency of Human Services from 2003 to 2005. Hand has experience in state and federal environmental litigation, renewable energy development and regulation, and land-use law.
Redstone commercial real estate announced the addition of Gail Beck as property/asset manager to the property management team. Beck has more than 20 years’ experience in property and asset management. Ross Montgomery joined the brokerage team, specializing in buyer and seller representation and commercial leasing.
DuBois & King Inc. announced that John D. Merrifield, PE, and Alex M. McGregor, EI, joined the firm’s civil works division as project engineers in the transportation department. Merrifield was a civil engineer with the Los Angeles Public Works Department. McGregor was a civil engineer in South Carolina. Both work in the firm’s Randolph headquarters.
Vanasse Hangen Brustlin Inc. announced Ameddia J. Perry as an associate. Perry, a Certified Ground Water Professional, is a senior hydrogeologist in the company’s North Ferrisburgh office.
The RehabGYM Inc. announced the addition of six employees to its professional team. Sherry Hance is billing and office specialist; Deb Harris, PT, is a lymphedema management specialist; Julie Clayton, PTA, CSCS, is a personal training and massage specialist; Joel Desautels, PT, ATC, practices physical therapy and athletic training; LuAnn Bellis, PTA, is an ergonomics and business support services specialist; and Edie Bernhardt, PT, specializes in myofascial release, aquatic therapy, and pelvic floor treatment. All were with the Physical Therapy Center of Vermont.
Cathy Palmer, MD, Ph.D., was named medical director of the laboratory at Central Vermont Medical Center. She succeeds longtime director Brian Travis, MD. Palmer has been with the hospital since 2001.
Thomas S. Leavitt, executive vice president of Merchants Bank, announced the appointment of David Berthiaume as branch president of the Putnam Square office in Bennington. He succeeds the late Kathy Hamilton. Berthiaume was with TD Banknorth in Greenwich, N.Y.
Rick Milliken, general manager of the DoubleTree Hotel Burlington, named Nicole Voth human resources director. Voth was with Vail Resorts Inc. in Colorado and, previously, a consultant with Mountain Performance Consulting. She is an adjunct faculty member for Lyndon State College.
Mark Depman, MD, was named emergency department medical director at Central Vermont Medical Center. An emergency department physician for nearly 20 years in Connecticut, Depman is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
John Zicconi was named director of the newly created division of planning, outreach and community affairs at the Vermont Agency of Transportation. He will continue as spokesman for the agency, which has eliminated his former position of communications director. Zicconi continues to be a member of the agency’s executive staff.
Sovernet Communications announced that Bill Kowalczyk was named director of finance. Kowalczyk has more than 20 years’ financial operations management. He was CFO for a Connecticut wholesaler.
NRG Systems Inc. announced the addition of Patty Prime as purchasing agent and Waverly Johnson as technical support specialist. Prime was with Goodrich for more than 20 years. Johnson was with KB Energy in Wyoming.

Jim McDonald of J.A. McDonald LLC of Lyndon Center, the owner of Vermont National Country Club, announced that Christopher Barron was named general manager. Barron was assistant general manager.
Janet Collins was hired as a techniques instructor at the Vermont Woodworking School in Fairfax. Collins supports co-founder Robert Fletcher in the education of full- and part-time students of the woodworking immersion program. She ran the workshop program at the North Bennett Street School in Boston for 11 years.
The American Cancer Society announced the appointment of Kate Kerrigan as community executive for endurance events, a newly created position.
Linda Bogardus joined TD Insurance Inc. as an account manager in the core division of commercial lines. She has more than 23 years’ experience in commercial insurance and was with Hackett, Valine & MacDonald.
Green Mountain Harley-Davidson announced two new hires. Kristy DeRobertis is an assistant in the finance and insurance department and the marketing department. She has 10 years’ real estate experience. Jeff Miller is a motorcycle sales associate with 20 years in sales. He is an owner/member of the Vermont Ice Storms football team.
The principals and directors of Future Planning Associates Inc. announced the retirement of Suzanne Stewart. Stewart retires after 26 years with the firm, 23 of which were as president and senior consultant. Marilyn Lehto will become president, with Erin Helmken, Daryl Straw, and Dave Davis continuing on the management team as senior vice presidents. Joshua Keenan, senior pension consultant, will assume Stewarts pension consulting services. He has been with the firm for three years.
Patricia K. Mellor was named chief executive officer for the newly formed Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains, serving Vermont and New Hampshire. The council is the result of a merger on Jan. 1 of the Girl Scouts of Swift Water Council and the Girl Scout Council of Vermont. The council’s headquarters are in Bedford, N.H., with locations across the Granite and Green Mountain states, including Essex and Rutland.
Bill Young, executive director of Maple Leaf Farm, announced that Libby Kennedy was hired as assessment counselor. Kennedy is a licensed alcohol and drug counselor, and a master of divinity, ordained in the United Church of Christ.
Century 21 Jack Associates announced the addition of Adam Holmes to its South Burlington office. Holmes will team with his wife, Robbi Handy Holmes, a top agent at the firm. He has experience as an apartment owner and an energy-efficiency expert, and owned and operated a landscaping business.
Daniel Fogel, president of the University of Vermont, announced that Tom Vogelmann was appointed dean of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. He has been acting as interim dean since July 2008.
Ted Adriance joined Propeller Media Works as an interactive Web developer. He was with Dealer.com in Burlington. Eric Smith was promoted to director of interactive development. He is the primary system architect and leads the programming team responsible for website and custom application development. He has been with Propeller since January 2008.
The board of directors of WRC Holdings LLC, which manages The Woodstock Inn & Resort for the Woodstock Foundation, announced the appointment of Werner H. Graef as the resort’s president and general manager. Graef was with RockResorts and has managed high-end resorts such as Caneel Bay and Little Dix Bay in the Caribbean and Kapalua Bay in Hawaii. Gary L. Avigne, who was acting chief operating officer, will continue as asset adviser.
Frederick C. Morin, MD, dean of the University of Vermont College of Medicine, announced that Ira Bernstein, MD, was named senior associate dean for research. Bernstein swill succeed Russell Tracy, Ph.D. He is a professor of obstetrics, gynecology, and reproductive sciences and serves as vice chairman for obstetrics and director of maternal fetal medicine at UVM and Fletcher Allen Health Care. William B. Jeffries, Ph.D., was named senior associate dean for education. He will relocate to Vermont from Omaha, Neb., where he is associate dean for medical education and director of academic computing at Creighton University School of Medicine. He replaces Robert Low, Ph.D., who has served in an interim capacity following the departure of Lewis First, MD.
Co-operative Insurance Companies announced the addition of three professionals to its staff. Joseph O’Reilly is claims adjuster, Kimberly Cyr is commercial underwriting assistant, and Pamela Russell is payroll and benefits administrator. O’Reilly was a claims generalist with Progressive Insurance in Colchester. Cyr was a licensed insurance agent and office manager at Laberge Insurance Agency in Middlebury. Russell was with Autumn Harp in Bristol.
