David Thurlow was named development director at ReSource to lead the nonprofit’s $1.7 million capital campaign supporting the construction of a new facility in Barre. Thurlow has 20 years’ experience in nonprofit fund-raising.

Vermont Mutual Insurance Co. announced the promotion of William A. Catto, CPCU, to the office of president. He will hold the dual title of president and chief operating officer. Catto was chief operating officer and succeeds Thomas J. Tierney. Daniel C. Bridge was elected senior vice president at the company’s annual meeting. In his expanded role, Bridge will direct strategic initiatives aimed and growing the business. He retains responsibility for the company’s marketing functions.

Abbott D. Abbott II was named executive director of the western New England and the North Country region of New York for Aim High Inc., a Web-based company that connects athletes in middle and high school with college recruiters.

DuBois & King Inc. announced that Lucy E. Gibson, P.E., joined the firm as project manager and engineer in the transportation division. She is a licensed professional engineer with more than 24 years’ experience and was principal of her own firm, Smart Mobility. RuthAnne S. Daniels, E.I., was named design engineer in the transportation division. She has a bachelor of science in civil engineering from the University of Vermont. Both work from the firm’s Randolph office. Emily Morgan joined Hampton Direct Inc. as inventor relations coordinator. Morgan was scheduling manager at Green Mountain Concert Services & Green Mountain Flagging.

Green Mountain Coffee Roasters Inc. announced that its board of directors appointed Michael J. Mardo, a director and chair of the company’s audit and finance committee, as interim board chair. Hinda S. Miller, who chairs the company’s corporate social responsibility committee, was appointed chair of the governance and nominating committee. At the board’s direction, Robert P. Stiller no longer serves as board chair, and William D. Davis no longer serves as lead director of the board. Stiller and Davis will also no longer serve on any board committees or receive payment for their service on the board until the board determines otherwise. Both will remain on the board. The changes are the result of actions taken to address stock sales by Stiller and Davis’ brokerage firm.K

Megan Skiles joined Spike Advertising as marketing projects manager, serving the areas of strategic planning, creative development, and project management. She was with Burton Snowboards’ Chill Foundation.

Bread Loaf Corp. announced that Tom Loyzelle was named manager of mechanical electrical plumbing services. He earned his associate of science in architectural and building engineering from Vermont Technical College and has more than 23 years’ experience in consulting engineering. He was with Vermont Law School.

Kevin Pearo joined Eric Jarvis and Co. at Keller Williams Realty Green Mountain Properties. Pearo, a Burlington native, earned a bachelor of science in advertising from Kansas State University and work with a Minneapolis advertising agency. Marc Quirion joined the Jim Chamberlin team at Keller Williams. He has a background in the construction industry.

William C. Mount was named a financial adviser with Eagle Strategies LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of New York Life Insurance Co. Mount is a graduate of Auburn University and a member of Vermont NAIFA.

KeyBank announced the promotion of Aubrey Jarvis to manager of its North Avenue branch in Burlington. Jarvis has been with the bank for 14 years, most recently as relationship manager of the Taft Corners branch.

Six employees joined Seven Days. Kathryn Flagg, staff writer, started her career in journalism at the Addison Independent and won the 2010 prize for Best State Story from the Vermont Press Association. Paul Heintz, staff writer, was communications director for Rep. Peter Welch. Corey Grenier, marketing and events manager, was a project manager for Brandthropology. Justin Gonyea, production manager, was art director for ANG Creative, the in-house production studio of the Air National Guard. Bobby Hackney, designer, is lead singer of the band Rough Francis. Emily Rose, sales assistant, is a recent graduate of St. Michael’s College.

Bilodeau, Wells & Co. PC, certified public accountants, announced the addition of April Colman as staff accountant. Colman is a graduate of Lyndon State College with a experience in private and public accounting.

Union Bank hired Louise Kowalewitz as senior mortgage loan originator at its loan center in South Burlington. Kowalewitz, a graduate of Trinity College in Burlington, is licensed in life and health insurance in Vermont and New York. She was with The Vermont Agency and GMAC Mortgage.

Ross Environmental Associates Inc. announced the addition of Stephanie Feuer and Chris Koenig to its team of professionals. Feuer, a 2010 graduate of Norwich University’s environmental science program, is responsible for implementing the company’s field investigations. Koenig has a master’s degree in regional planning from Cornell University and was a field environmental specialist with Gamesa Energy USA. Both will work from the Stowe office.

Brandthropology hired Andrew Kaufman as an account manager. Kaufman, who managed event marketing for Madhouse Munchies before joining Brandthropology, interned with the firm in his senior year at the University of Vermont.

Baystate Financial Services, a general agency of New England Life Insurance Co., announced the relocation of the offices of Janet Cooper and Roger Webster and their assistant, Darlene Coppola, from Williston to 302 Mountain View Drive, Suite 201, Colchester, on Water Tower Hill.

Jim Caffry, a special needs planning attorney in Waterbury, announced his sister Laura Caffry joined him and his wife, Amy Caffry, as a paralegal at Caffry Law PLLC.

Redstone announced three new hires. Sharon Miller is property management assistant and lease administrator. She has owned her own business and has many years’ experience in property management and customer service. Erin Calig is the Redstone Lofts lease professional and property manager. She has worked in commercial real estate since college and has managed properties in various cities, including Manhattan. Jason McLean is financial property manager/comptroller. He has six years’ financial analysis experience in the Boston area.

Coldwell Banker Hickok & Boardman Realty announced that Susan Kaminski joined the firm as a Realtor. Her experience includes positions in management, buying, systems design, and training in addition to buying and selling real estate in several states.

Patrick DiMambro joined Vermont Housing Finance Agency as staff accountant. DiMambro is a recent graduate of Champlain College with a bachelor of science in Accounting. He served as director of finance for the Champlain student government association.
