Emily Morgan joined Hampton Direct Inc. as inventor relations coordinator. Morgan was scheduling manager at Green Mountain Concert Services & Green Mountain Flagging.

Nobis Engineering Inc. promoted two of its employees to associates. Boyd Allen, PG, a project manager, has 29 years’ experience in hydrogeology and geology. Vicki Leduc, director of human resources, joined the firm in 1999.

David Cook, the owner of Cook Creative Advertising Inc., announced the change of the agency’s name to Origin EastWest to reflect the opening of an office in the Seattle area, where Cook found himself spending a lot of time with a new client. Cook has been serving Vermont businesses since 1988.

Mater Christi School hired Kaitlyn Dorey as director of enrollment. Dorey was with Coldwell Banker Hickok & Boardman Realty.

Gregory Sanford, Vermont’s state archivist, announced his retirement effective August 1. Sanford was hired in 1982 as editor of state papers, charged with annotating and publishing historical government documents. He helped create the Vermont State Archives and Records Administration. Tanya Marshall, Sanford’s deputy and head of the records analysts unit, will succeed Sanford as archivist.

David S. Silverman, president of the Union Bank, was promoted to chief executive officer, the final step in succession plan for leadership begun in 2010. He was also promoted to chief executive officer of Union Bankshares Inc. He has been with the bank since 1986. Stephen H. Kendall was promoted to senior vice president, retail lending and will be a member of the senior management team. Five employees were promoted to officer level. Barbara J. Churchill, loan servicing manager; Jennifer Degree, electronic banking manager; Jessica Eastman, retail loan underwriter; and Lesley R. Russ, loan review and internal auditor, were promoted to assistant treasurer. Paul Grogan was promoted to facilities officer. Judy R. Smith, branch manager for the St. Albans office, and Claire Hindes, branch manager for the Morrisville main branch, were promoted to vice president. Shelli L. Guay was hired as marketing manager. Guay was CFO and director of media at Acorn Marketing.

Elizabeth Anglin Knox joined Lund as director of development. She was national director, development for Outward Bound. David F. Huntington was hired to help Lund lead its $3.5 million 50 Joy Drive capital campaign. His fund-raising experience includes work at Bowdoin, Yale, and Dartmouth.

Rob Smart was named deputy director of Circus Smirkus, a newly created position. Smart was vice president at Northern Power Systems in Barre and at NativeEnergy Inc., and most recently was co-owner and strategic adviser for Sugarsnap.

Keller Williams Realty Green Mountain Properties announced that Erik Endresen, Realtor, joined the Adam Hergenrother Team as a buyer specialist. Endresen’s sales background is in the building materials and health care industries. John Nichols joined the Mike Conroy team at Keller Williams as a sales manager. Nichols has a background in real estate brokerage and in radio and TV.PayData Payroll Services Inc. announced the hiring of two client service representatives. Lisa Sweet was a mortgage loan processor with PrimeLending, and Jen Olsen, newly arrived from Albany, N.Y., has six years’ experience in payroll processing.

Sarah Woodard was hired by Spectrum Youth and Family Services as director of development and communications. She was with NRG Systems and the Institute for Sustainable Communities.

Trumbull-Nelson Construction Co. Inc. appointed Paul Stokarski human resource manager. Stokarski was regional supervisor of human resources for Stantec. He has been a certified Human Resources Professional since 2002. Trumbull-Nelson promoted Dale Bacon to project superintendent. Bacon is a longtime employee who has served as project foreman on various projects.

Union Mutual of Vermont Companies announced that Guy Graham, vice president of claims, has retired from active duty. Graham joined the company in 1977 and was named vice president in 2008 when his predecessor, John Fitzhugh, became president and CEO.

SymQuest Group hired Thu Nguyen as SQL (structured query language) report writer. Nguyen earned a bachelor of science in software development from Champlain College. Jordan Yana was hired as shop technician, responsible for maintaining and repairing the company’s Canon and Kyocera multifunctional printers.

The architecture firm MorrisSwitzer Environments for Health announced several staff additions. Joanne MacIsaac, NCIDQ, IIDA, LEED AP, is director of interior design. She was with a Boston firm. Jennifer Lane, RA, is a registered architect with over 10 years’ experience. Michael Kalustov, LEED AP, a LEED accredited professional, will administer environmental guidelines to the firm’s health care projects. Andrea Costello joined the design team for new construction. Ken Groub was named IT manager for all of the firm’s locations. He was with Hampton Direct. Alicia Fligg is an assistant in accounting and office management. She was with a New Hampshire concrete company.

The Visiting Nurse Association of Chittenden and Grand Isle Counties announced the appointment of Judy Peterson, RN, as president and CEO, effective in mid July. She succeeds Church Hindes. Peterson was president and CEO of Central Vermont Home Health and Hospice.

Central Vermont Medical Center hired Justin Turcotte as executive chef. Turcotte earned his associate’s degree at the Culinary Institute of America, and has 22 years of food service background around the country, most recently as an instructor at New England Culinary Institute.

Burlington College named Christine Plunkett president of the college. Previously vice president of administration and finance, Plunkett succeeds Jane Sanders, who resigned as president. She served as part of the interim leadership team following Sanders’ resignation.

The BCK Real Estate family announced the addition of Cliff Gross, an expert in agricultural and investment properties and large parcels, as a broker. Gross has represented buyers and sellers and will work from the BCK Barre office, covering all of eastern Vermont along the Connecticut River.

Brittany Cocozza, a 2012 graduate of St. Michael’s College, joined Hampton Direct Inc. as a marketing coordinator. •
