About Offset House

Printing has come a long way since Johannes Gutenberg invented the printing press in 1440, but one thing has remained the same: the attention to detail necessary to produce high-quality printing.

BinderyToday, even with the help of computers and digital technology, printing is a complex, skilled process. If the color adjustment is not exact, paper weight is not accounted for, or measurements are off by a millimeter, a print can come out of the press wildly different than intended.

PressJust ask the Offset House in Essex, Vermont. The presses in their 70,000-square-foot building run around-the-clock to produce brochures, catalogues, newspaper inserts, mailers, flyers, and signs. The Offset House has machines that cut intricate designs, bind pamphlets, and seal envelopes. Printing orders are processed on two web presses, which process large orders quickly because they use rolls of paper instead of sheets, as well as several sheet-fed presses to print smaller orders.

Offset House pressman checks color on the 4 color digital pressWorkers must check for accuracy at each stage of the printing process to ensure that products turn out just as clients request. Designs can be uploaded to the Offset House using FTP technology. Then the finished products are mailed directly from the Offset House which has a Postal clerk on site.

Proofing at Offset HouseThe Offset House was started as a small print shop in the early 1970's by John and Mary McGrath and has grown into an operation that fulfills orders from around the country. Whether fulfilling an order for a small brochure or a magazine like Business People-Vermont, the Offset House is proud to produce printing that reflect precision and detail.
